At twenty-five she keeps a quiet flat in the Jordaan and takes the greater part of her bookings in the canal-ring hotels close by. She has noticed that a guest who knew the place only as Amsterdam Airport before booking tends to come to the evening a little disoriented, and she allows for that. She moves between Greek and English and uses whichever settles the room sooner. Nuru and body to body are the requests she hears week in, week out. Her limits are hers, given at the door and kept. Journeys out to the airport hotels are arranged separately, with the time agreed before confirmation.

Sophia decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
